Publisher Agreement

Last updated August 16, 2026

This agreement is between Arcane Wonders LLC (“awfunding”, “we”) and the publisher running campaigns on the platform (“you”). It sits alongside the Terms of Service, which also apply to you; where the two differ for publishers, this document wins.

1. What each of us does

You make the game and fulfil it. We provide the software that takes pledges, manages the pledge manager, and moves money through Stripe. Backers contract with you, not with us — we are never the seller, the escrow, or a guarantor of your project.

Money reaches you through your own Stripe Connect account. We never hold your funds, and payouts are governed by your agreement with Stripe.

2. Your commitments to backers

  • Describe the project honestly: what is finished, what isn't, what the risks are, and what a backer actually receives.
  • Deliver what you promised, or — when you can't — tell backers promptly, explain why, and offer refunds where delivery has become impossible. Silence is the failure backers punish hardest, and the one we act on (see non-delivery).
  • Post updates through the campaign, and answer backer messages within a reasonable time.
  • Honour consumer rights that apply where your backers live, including any statutory cancellation and refund rights.
  • Set and publish a refund policy, and follow it.

3. Your campaign content

Everything you publish must be yours to publish — art, text, video, trademarks, and the rights to the game itself. You keep ownership; you grant us the licence needed to host and display it, and to show the campaign in listings and promotion of the platform.

No campaign may be a scam, a lottery, an investment or securities offering, a way to sell prohibited or regulated goods, or a vehicle for content that is illegal, infringing, or hateful.

4. Fees

Any platform fee is shown to you before you launch and is currently zero for invited publishers. Stripe's processing fees are charged by Stripe under your account's terms. We will give notice before introducing or changing a platform fee, and it will never apply retroactively to a campaign already launched.

5. Suspension

We may unpublish or cancel a campaign, or suspend a publisher account, where a campaign breaks this agreement, misleads backers, exposes the platform to legal risk, or where a publisher has stopped communicating about a funded project. Where we can, we will ask first; where backers' money is at risk, we may act immediately.

6. Backer data — data protection addendum

This section governs the personal data you receive about backers. It applies automatically and is part of this agreement.

6.1 We are independent controllers

When a backer pledges to your campaign, we disclose their name, email address, shipping address, pledge contents and survey answers to you so you can fulfil the pledge. From that moment you are an independent controller of that data — not our processor. You decide how you use it, and you are responsible for it under the law that applies to you and to your backers, including the GDPR and UK GDPR where they live in the EEA or UK.

6.2 What you agree to do with it

  • Use it only to fulfil the pledge and to communicate about that project — shipping, updates, and support. Nothing else without the backer's consent.
  • Never sell it, rent it, or share it for advertising. Not to a fulfilment partner's marketing arm, not to a distributor, not to anyone.
  • Don't add backers to a general mailing list unless they opted in to that separately and knowingly. A pledge is not a newsletter subscription.
  • Keep it secure — access limited to people who need it, and only in systems that protect it appropriately.
  • Keep it only as long as you need it for fulfilment, support and your own legal and tax obligations, then delete it.
  • Bind your own vendors. Fulfilment houses, freight forwarders and customer-service tools you pass backer data to must be under a written contract that holds them to at least these standards.
  • Publish a privacy policy covering what you do with backer data, and give backers a way to reach you about it.

6.3 Backer requests and incidents

  • If a backer asks you for access, correction, deletion or a copy of their data, answer it yourself within the time the law allows. If they ask us about data you hold, we will point them to you.
  • If backer data you hold is lost, stolen or exposed, tell us within 48 hours of becoming aware, at customerservice@arcanewonders.com, and make any notifications the law requires of you. We'll do the same in the other direction.
  • International transfers of backer data are your responsibility to make lawfully — for example when your fulfilment partner is in another country.

6.4 When a campaign ends

A backer deleting their awfunding account erases their data from our systems; it does not reach into yours. You must handle their erasure request separately when they make one of you, subject to records you are legally required to keep.

7. Liability

You are responsible for your project, your content, and your handling of backer data, and you will cover us for claims arising from those — including claims by backers about non-delivery, and regulatory action about your use of their data. Our own liability to you is limited as set out in the Terms of Service.

8. Changes and ending it

We'll notify you of material changes to this agreement by email. You may stop using the platform at any time, but obligations to backers of a funded campaign — delivery, communication, and the data commitments above — survive.
